Kelowna ComiCon is thrilled to announce that the talented Brendan Hunter , who unfortunately had to cancel last year due to the devastating fires will be returning this year. We’re very excited to welcome them to Kelowna! After 20 years as a professional voice actor for anime, cartoons and video games, BRENDAN HUNTER has been in many iconic and influential products from around the world. Perhaps best know as Hisoka's english VA from the original Hunter X Hunter ("99 dub"), he started in Dragon Ball GT (Uub/Oob), followed quickly by Tien Shinhan in Dragon Ball, with roles in Megaman Powered Up, the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, Viper's Creed, and many more. Brendan can now be heard and seen in numerous films, video games, TV shows, etc. You may have even loved to hate him as Austin the Butler in Gardenscapes... sorry. It’s been great to play Dr. O on Cardfight! Vanguard, and many of the card's monster voices, as well as on shows like Futurecard Buddyfight (Jin Magatsu) and LBX as the villainous Devin. Celebrity Guest - David Sobolov

Kelowna ComiCon is overjoyed to share that David Sobolov, who regrettably had to postpone last year because of the tragic fires, will be joining us again this year. We can't wait to welcome them back to Kelowna! David Sobolov is the English voice of Kaido in One Piece.  He’s also the voice Of Apelinq, Battletrap and Rhinox in Paramount’s  Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.    David is the voice of Volibear in the video game League of Legends, Gorilla Grodd on Cw’s The Flash, and Drax in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy animated series.    You’ll hear David as The Centurion in Alita: Battle Angel, multiple Klingons in Star Trek Into Darkness, various creatures in Dungeons and Dragons, Honor Among Thieves, and as one of the Reavers in Serenity.   In addition to Volibear, David has voiced roles in over 90 video games including, Lobo (Injustice), Dr. Fate (Injustice 2), Black Knight (Fortnite), The Arbiter (Halo Wars), Azmodan (Heroes of the Storm, Diablo III and IV), Lt. Celebrity Guest - Michael Coleman

Exciting news! Michael Coleman, who had to cancel last year because of the terrible fires, will be returning this year for Kelowna ComiCon 2024. We're absolutely thrilled to have them come back to Kelowna! Award-winning actor/writer/director/educator, Michael Coleman has worked for some of the biggest franchises in the world, including Marvel, Disney, DC, and several top anime series. His work includes numerous animated titles such as Hello Kitty, Dragonball Z, Inuyasha, and Gundam. He voiced Sunspot on X-Men: Evolution and worked in several top live action series such as Once Upon a Time, Supernatural, Stargate, and Fringe. Michael has written, directed, and starred in musical theatre productions (based on parodies of Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings), and has performed Shakespeare on various stages. Michael is also the founder of Story Institute and educates professional actors around the world. Currently Michael has multiple projects in development for different OTT networks and Hallmark. He continues to work extensively as an actor, writer, and director, as well as finding lots of time to mentor the next generation of storytellers who are looking to pursue similar goals. Cosplay Contest 2024!

Showcasing the best of the best Kelowna Comicon is proud to bring you our Annual Cosplay contest! Competitive cosplayers strive to hone their craft and what better way to show off their talents by entering our annual cosplay contest! This contest will be open to ages 13 and up and will aim to show off some amazing craftsmanship! So join up or come support your favorite cosplayer by watching the show! Just watching the show? Date: June 22nd Time: 4pm Location : Main stage See our schedule for more details Looking to Take Part? Ages: 13 and up Prizes : Best in Show Best Individual, Masters Best Individual, Journeyman Best Individual, Novice 3 Judges Choice Novice level cosplays must be at least 60% handmade by either the entry or group, Journeyman level cosplays must be at least 70% handmade, and Masters level cosplays must be at least 80% handmade. If entering as a group each participant must have contributed to the group cosplay unless specifically noted. If you are the crafts person and not modeling your own creation please note that in your application, models are accepted but only the entrant will be judged unless entering as a group. If you wish to enter a heavily altered store bought cosplay you MUST provide explanations and examples of how you altered it. Commissioned and bought costumes or costumes mostly made up of bought general clothing are not accepted for cosplay contest entries barring the exceptions above. If you would like to enter the cosplay contest with no judging, just to go on stage and show off your cosplay,  please apply the normal way with the application form but state walk on only in your application.  CLICK BELOW TO SEE ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS Categories: NOVICE Equivalent to Beginner. All contestants are eligible to compete in the Novice category unless they have competed and won a major award in a Novice/Beginner category or higher at a previous craftsmanship competition at any major convention. JOURNEYMAN Equivalent to Intermediate Contestants who have competed but never placed in a Journeyman category, and contestants who have won a major award in Novice at a previous competitions are eligible to compete at this level. MASTERS Equivalent to Advanced or Professional. Contestants who have competed and won major awards in Journeyman or higher categories at previous competitions are eligible to compete at this level. If you believe your cosplay does not fit into any of these categories easily(such as you believe you belong in Masters when you have not won any prior awards), please contact us at and we can place you in the best category for you. Contest applications will be closed end of day June 18th, 2024 to give us time to address all concerns and time limits. With all applications we will need: A full description of your cosplay with examples of your work(if possible), and if possible work in progress photos for our judges(if you would like to send more than 3 photos please send them to ). Please include the name of your character and the series they are from if applicable. A 30 second sound bite that you would like us to play while you strut the stage. The strut will consist of whatever you would like to do within that time frame, as long as it falls under the safety guidelines. Your stage performance will in no way effect the outcome of the contest. Just have fun. D&D Mini Sessions with Next Session

Kelowna ComiCon is happy to announce Next Session will be hosting 2 hour Dungeons and Dragons sessions for Kelowna ComiCon 2023! Next Session is a for-hire service of professional Game Masters that aim to provide a fun, positive and safe place to experience tabletop roleplaying. Whether this is by joining one of their public play games hosted by several local businesses or for your group of friends that want to play. Long have goblins lived in the shadows of the nearby kingdom, forced to scrounge for anything they can muster to survive. But no more! You and the other players will take on the roles of goblins with special abilities as you break into a nobles home to relieve them of their precious valuables. But watch out! Guest Cosplayer - Cerberus

We're thrilled to announce that Cerberus, a award winning local cosplayer, will be making a triumphant return for Kelowna Comicon 2024 after being unable to attend last year due to the devastating fires. Cerberus is a Kelowna-based cosplayer who focuses on wig-styling and makeup. She started with closet cosplays and learned how to make props and style wigs before getting more into sewing and costume-making. In order to reduce waste in cosplay, she prioritizes using materials she already has and re-using wigs, base outfits, and props. Guest Cosplayer - Formative Fox

Amidst the excitement, we're thrilled to share that Formative Fox, will be returning for Kelowna Comicon 2024 after facing the setback of the devastating fires last year. With a passion for marine biology and ocean life, Formative Fox brings a unique flair to their cosplay creations that is as awe-inspiring as it is imaginative. People everywhere recognize the talent and detail that goes into every one of their creations. their original characters and makeup looks frequently incorporate their love of the ocean, showcasing their creativity and attention to detail. With over four years of experience, Formative Fox has developed expertise in blacklight makeup and lighting to incorporate the glow of the ocean into their creations. They bring this spectacular skill into their photography as well as short videos, adding an otherworldly effect to every piece. Their cosplay exemplifies bioluminescence at its finest! Guest Cosplayer - HoyzaCoz

Join us in welcoming back HoyzaCoz, an enthusiastic cosplayer, for Kelowna Comicon 2024! Despite missing out last year due to the tragic fires, we're excited to see his imaginative cosplays once again. Vancouver based creator - Hoyzacoz has been in the cosplay community since 2015 after developing an addiction for the hobby after his first con, he immediately arrived home to craft his first cosplay and has been at it on a daily basis. Hoyza prides himself in being able to construct his cosplays with dollar store items, such as cheap EVA foam, thrifted fabric and is a master of the hot glue gun. In fact, every cosplay he has created has cost under $120!
There is no costume or character Hoyza fears creating. EVA armor and weapons are his specialty, but he is also a keen sewer, wigmaker and painter.

He won 1st place once at a Halloween Cosplay contest with his Zinogre (Monster Hunter) armor in Vancouver.
Having guested once at the Harrisburg PopComicCon in Pennsylvania before COVID hit, he is incredibly thrilled to share his craft and enthusiasm again at cons. Some of his favourite franchises include- The Legend of Zelda, Pokémon, Final Fantasy, Metroid, Kingdom Hearts etc SOCIAL MEDIA

With an unwavering passion for video games, anime, and fantasy, Kenzumii draws inspiration from these realms to create captivating and immersive cosplay experiences.
