Who's That Pokemon?

You know Pokemon...or do you? See if you can stump your family and friends by decking out your Pokemon model with some fancy new items! In this competition, you will be able to pick one Pokemon model and one option pack/SD model. Combine the two to create an entirely new Pokemon that is uniquely yours!

Create your own Pokemon!

  1. The build will be happening on Saturday, August 19 from 10am - 2:30pm (12 and under) and Sunday, August 20 from 10am - 2:30pm (over 12)

  2. Entry fee is $10 (cash only) with all proceeds going to the Okanagan Humane Society. You will then have your choice of Pokemon model and option pack/SD model. These will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

  3. All ages are welcome to participate. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

  4. Adhesives and nippers will be provided.  Children 12 and under must have parental assistance with all tools and adhesives.

  5. Your model may be taken with you as soon as you finish, or you may choose to display it at the event if you wish.  Any displayed models may be picked up at any time during the event or picked up at Chibi’s Anime Goods and Collectibles after August 21.

  6. Your build must be family friendly. Any build deemed inappropriate will not be eligible to be displayed.

  7. All participants* will be entered into a draw to win a Yuri Godbuster Plamax Model (retail value $139.99).

1. Do I get to keep my model when I’m done?

A. Absolutely!

2. I would like to use a third model in my build. Is that allowed?

A: You may use a third model if you’d like, as long as the two main models you selected are obviously represented.

3. I would like to paint my build. Is that allowed?

A. As this is an indoor event, we will not be allowing paint for this build. Unfortunately, as paints quite often have heavy scents, it is not something that we can have in the hall, out of respect to the attendees and exhibitors with sensitivities to smell. However, decals will be provided as an alternative form of customization.

4. I don’t want to use any of the kits that are provided/there are no models left. Can I bring my own?

A. You are welcome to bring your own models if you would like, as long as one is a Bandai Pokemon and the other is an SD/option pack (models will need to be approved before they can be used).

5. If I bring my own models, do I still have to pay to enter?

A. You do not need to pay to enter if you bring your own models.  That said, the entry fee is going to charity and donations are always welcome!

FAQs

Kelowna ComiCon had it's first show in 2017 under the name "Kelowna Comics & Collectibles Expo". In our first year, we had 50 vendors and 1000 attendees packed into our 6000 sq ft venue. We featured the cast of the Power Rangers in Space and the Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase. Expansion was a necessity as the event became larger over the years. Now, we at Kelowna ComiCon, are excited to announce that we have moved to MNP Place in Kelowna to accomodate our ever growing event!
